Water Cooled House
A fantastic home designed by Wallflower Architecture + Design in Singapore. The design utilizes the natural breezes of the site to help cool the house. Large overhangs protect the upper living areas from the sun yet allow an unobstructed view of the surrounding vegetation. An interior koi pond and long hallway on the lower level opens up to the sky above allowing breezes to pass through and over the water to regulate the temperatures of the house.
The reflective pool above is designed to thermally insulate the rooms below from solar heat gain while it also helps regulate the temperature swings inside the home.
