Sandnes Lantern

This design by AWP + Atelier Oslo Architects is a public gathering space located in Ragna Stakland, Norway. The canopy rests on four groups of oak columns rising to meet a double grid roof structure. Upon the roof framing, glass panels are overlapped much like a traditional slate roof.

Modeling the architecture of a building after forms found in nature. Similar theory to former Bruce Goff apprentice Eugene Tsui. Schuster's theory seems to be based in spirituality while Tsui's is rooted in sustainability and building performance.
